Celebrate!

Our last day of Sunday school is a great day to celebrate as a community with a free event including pizza from our Bread Oven Ministry team, live music from World Beat Connection*, an opportunity to serve others by helping pack hygiene kits for people in crisis, to be distributed by Midwest Missions, games and fun on the playground, and a time to pray a blessing for this growing season in the Don Hartley Memorial Garden, where gardeners grow food produce for the CAP Agency Food Shelf. Join us for worship at 9:30 inside, and/or join us outside at about 10:30 for the other events. You will also be able to get information about future bread oven events, and summer programs like STORM Camp and Compassion Camp (VBS).

If you would like to provide items for the Personal Dignity kits, they are asking for donations of NEW

  • hand towels (no kitchen towels)
  • wash cloths (no dish cloths)
  • toothbrushes-packaged individually (no multipacks)
  • bar soap (3-4 oz.)
  • shampoo (12-19 oz.)
  • deodorant (2-3 oz. stick, roll-on or pump)
  • financial donations are also welcome to cover costs of razors, etc. and shipping of the kits.

*More info about World Beat Connection: World Beat Connection ministers through music in Minnesota, the Caribbean, and Latin America by blending styles from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and geographical backgrounds. Concerts are given by vocalists and instrumentalists in Minnesota who volunteer their time to raise money for United Methodist and other charities. Once or twice a year, World Beat Connection organizes and sponsors a musical tour of another country or region of the United States. Recent trips have been to Costa Rica, Jamaica, and New Orleans. Musicians from each country or area join the team as well as others from across the country. Funds are raised in each country or area for local ministries. Future plans include trips to Dominican Republic and Haiti. All are welcome to join. The team meets once each fall and spring. World Beat Connection has performed hundreds of concerts over the past 10 years and is an expansion of Jumping Jehosafats, another music group which has been doing the same kind of ministry since 1985.
