STORM Day of Service

Register by June 30! (See link at bottom)

STORM has been offering opportunities for students to serve Jesus by serving others since 1991. Typically, this takes the form of a week-long camp, but this summer we are offering a one-day experience in four locations across Minnesota, including Prior Lake. Registration cost is pay-what-you-will and money raised will be used for materials for the work we do.

This STORM Day of serving is for youth in grades 7-12 and adult leaders (1 adult age 21+ for every 5 youth). Participants will begin the day with a morning devotion and receive information about how they’ll be spending the day serving from a STORM staff member. Groups will will travel to one or two jobs (painting, gardening/landscaping, building/demolishing, exterior cleaning). Following the day of serving, groups will gather back at Holy Trinity UMC for “chapel” in the parking lot. Chapel includes time for groups to share how they spent the day serving, band-led worship, and a message from STORM Director Sami Tierney. Our Prior Lake site is especially blessed because our music worship will be led by the band Boiling Point LIVE in our parking lot, which is amazing, and would be a shame to miss!

We’re working to be as Covid-safe as we can, so here’s what you can expect:
– Masks and social distancing are expected
– Church groups will travel and serve together, not with other groups
– Box lunch will be provided
– Everything will be outdoors

We can only accept registrations for as many projects as we have planned, so sign up early to be top of the list to participate! For questions contact Lynnette at kidsandfamilies@htumc.org  or Holy Trinity UMC 952-447-2990. To register online, go to https://vbspro.events/p/events/storm2021
